New insights in first-class presentations
Not only has Merck been an established exhibitor at Biotechnica for many years, we also have established a tradition of cutting-edge presentations and lectures on special topics given by our R&D experts and application professionals at the conference section of Biotechnica. This year we have prepared for you, among others, presentations on ZIC®HILIC, a unique chromatography separation technique, on optimising downstream bioprocesses by use of new resin tentacle structures, and on the use of Merck pH tests in laboratory practice.
ZIC®HILIC – better separation of polar compounds
When it comes to analyzing polar and hydrophilic compounds, reversed-phase chromatography has severe limitations because these compounds often have little or no retention on reversed-phase columns. Using the innovative ZIC®HILIC technology developed by SeQuant – a unique zwitterionic HILIC (hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography) separation technique – all types of polar and hydrophilic compounds can be separated – from small peptides to ions, from complex carbohydrates to metabolites.
Eshmuno™ – the smart resin for optimised downstream processes
Eshmuno™, a new chromatography resin from Merck, offers superior process productivity and tangible cost savings especially in high-titer processes for mABs. Its performance is based on new active tentacle structures that facilitate access and binding of the biomolecule to the resin’s functional groups, contributing to the efficient capture and intermediate purification of monoclonal antibodies.
pH tests – 40 years of quality meeting the highest demands
This year, Merck celebrates 40 years of providing high-quality pH measurement products with added value for our customers. Merck offers a large variety of different products from pH indicator papers and pH test strips to pH indicator solutions. Our customers benefit from four decades of experience – Merck pH tests are more reliable, safer, and more convenient: You can achieve precise pH readings even for weakly buffered solutions, you can easily measure pH values anywhere in just a few minutes, and thanks to our innovative SafetyEdge box, you can easily remove one pH test strip at a time and no strips will accidentally fall out of the open box any more.
