Spectroquant® Test Kits for boiler & cooling water

- Precalibrated Spectroquant® Instruments
Merck is dedicated to providing our customers with the most convenient, reliable and secure systems for all analyses purposes. To specifically serve all industries that employ or deal with boiler and cooling water systems, two new Spectroquant® test kits that measure the parameters “molybdenum” and “oxygen scavengers” complete the photometric product range.
The importance of water testing
Every industry that operates boiler and cooling water systems – ranging from power plants, technical and chemical corporations to food and beverage companies – needs to regularly test the water to analyze a number of parameters. This is imperative as it avoids corrosion and malfunction. The analyses can be performed by the company’s own lab, subcontractors or other third party providers – Merck offers the ideal solution for all specific requirements.
Merck’s test kits make water testing safe & easy.

Merck’s two new Spectroquant® Test Kits

- Spectroquant® Molybdenum Test
Molybdenum Test Kit
Molybdenum is used as a corrosion inhibitor, which is added to the boiler and cooling water to protect the system. As the concentration of Molybdenum in the cooling and boiler water is important to avoid corrosion, regular analysis is required. Merck’s new Molybdenum test kit allow customers to measure the different citation units of Molybdenum. They are suitable for use with Hach instruments without further device-specific calibration.
Oxygen Scavenger Test Kit
A number of corrosion inhibitors are added to the boiler and cooling water streams to decrease the corrosion rate by removing the dissolved oxygen from the water. As the concentration of these substances in the cooling and boiler water is important to avoid corrosion, regular analysis is required.
Merck’s new Oxygen Scavenger test kit allows customers to measure 5 different corrosion inhibitors with a single test kit: N,N-Diethylhydroxylamine, Carbohydrazide, Hydroquinone, Isoascorbic acid (Erythorbic acid), and Methylethylketoxime (2-Butanoneoxime). They are suitable for use with Hach instruments without further device-specific calibration.
